Booking Through Thursday...Favorites

A deceptively easy question for this week (easy to ask but possibly hard to answer): What are/were your favorite book(s) of the year? (Bonus points if you know how many books you read.)

Currently, I'm at 108 with 2 DNF, I will have a couple of more books read before the end of the year.  That's less than normal (last year I read 160), but I had major surgery this summer and it disrupted every aspect of my life.  I keep track of what I read, but I don't have any real goals, nor is it a competition.  Too many challenges and deadlines make reading less fun for me.  So 108+ books for the year is fine by me.

My 5 Star Favorites this year?  The School of Essential Ingredients, The Wedding Dress, Catching Fire, The Captive Heart.

What about you?  What were your favorite books for 2012?

Your health is more important than a hitting a target, and I hope you are fully recovered now.

I'm not through reading for the year either, and will post about my favorites later. I loved The School of Essential Ingredients when I read it too.

108 books is a great number. I only read half of that!

I haven't read any of your favorites but I mean to read Catching Fire. I loved that series for the way it spoke vines to me about government. Weird, I know, as there are so many other exciting elements... :)

108+ books is more than I managed.

I've also come to the conclusion that deadlines aren't fun while reading so I'm cutting back on reading challenges next year.

I don't do challenges either. I found they were just way too stressful for me so I stopped a couple of years ago. 108 is better than I did!
