It's pretty much a given that I'm going to love any cover that has the ocean on it. I can rhapsodize well and long about my love of the ocean. The title implies that the ocean can be dangerous and the ocean on this cover is rugged with waves crashing over rocks. A rocky shoreline can be treacherous to ships and reading this story is the only way we will find out why the sea is feared.

I tend to pick on net galley by covers also. But weirdly, when I do that, almost all of them are British or Australian! For some reason, at least to me, the U.S. covers seem less appealing!
ReplyDeleteThe one thing that saves me on Netgalley is that so many of the books I want to request are non-U.S. and so I get denied. You're so right, sometimes the non-U.S. covers are more appealing!
DeleteThe ocean on a cover is beautiful. The ocean on this cover led my eyes to the title. So, for me it's the cover and the title this time.
