Childhood Favorites...Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle

Childhood favorites. Everyone has a favorite book or author from childhood. A book that touched them or changed them. A book that perhaps initiated their love of reading and put them on the path of libraries and learning.

Childhood Favorites is a monthly series focusing on beloved books from the past.

Donald Zolan, Quiet Time.

Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle probably taught me more about good behavior and manners than any human adult in my life ever did. And she lived in an upside down house! How cool is that?

I don't remember when I first discovered Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, but she was awesome. I read her books over and over again. I loved her way of teaching life lessons to children. The little girl who wouldn't take a bath? And suddenly grew radishes in her arms and legs? That's still one of my favorites along with the little boy who was selfish and didn't want anyone to play with his toys.

What about you? What is one of your childhood favorites?
