I have over 1000+ posts in my Google Reader. There is no way I can read every single one, let alone comment. Sigh...
Confession: sometimes I just mark everything as read and start over. Will any of you commiserate with me and tell me that you do the same thing? Please...
Or is my post one of your 1000+ too...

There are times I try to catch up, and then give up and mark all as read. I've never had over 1000 in my reader though.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! LOL. I comment when I see interesting titles on my sidebar. I seldom click to the blog in my reader.
ReplyDeleteWhen I hit the 1000+ mark, I always mark all posts as read and start over. Don't feel guilty. There aren't enough hours in the day to read every single post.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I have to do this, too. Especially during the read-a-thons, when everyone is posting dozens of times a day! I just can't keep up.
ReplyDeleteI just did that. I commiserate with you.
ReplyDeleteI don't get backlogged with blogs, but I do occasionally delete everything on one of my favorite social sites. If I'm gone for a while, there's no way I'll ever catch up!
ReplyDeleteOf course - we all have to use the "mark all as read" from time to time. Do what works for you!
ReplyDeleteYes! All those bold numbers in parentheses become so overwhelming! Too bad we can't do this with our work email :)
ReplyDeleteOh, how I relate with you, Holly! I've had to use the 'Mark All As Read ' button too. But sometimes, I'll read the last few more recent posts of each blog before deleting the much older ones. I think we all have to purge every once in awhile. My problem is that I subscribe to way too many blogs...but there are so many good ones!! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I was a little concerned about being so honest about my feelings on The Summer Kitchen. I'm glad you appreciated my frankness. I look forward to visiting your blog again!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just have to.
ReplyDeleteIf I had 1000+ in my reader I would do the same thing. Sometimes starting fresh is good!
ReplyDeleteI certainly do this especially lately when I just haven't had the time to read everything. I've been trying to read and pop by my favorites this week though.
ReplyDeleteThat has happened to me a few times. Quite recently because I've been on vacation.
ReplyDeleteyes, sadly I usually have to do this once a week. My reader will fill to 1000+ in a day.
ReplyDeleteI've had to do this once in a while, too - I'm sure we've all been there. :)
ReplyDeleteI turn off the unread counts so I don't usually know how many I have. This morning I started feeling like the number might be getting high and it certainly was- 946. So I'm pretty close to the 1000+. I just hid them again and keep going.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, there are times I have to do that as well. It's nice to be able to still go through and look at the posts even if they are still marked at all read.
